What is ttgen?

ttgen is the online timetable generator originally created for the MIP faculty. ttgen offers functionality for generating personalised timetables (for students or teachers) as well as overview timetables, i.e. all courses in a certain semester for any given degree. ttgen currently supports the following degrees in the following faculties:

About ttgen

ttgen was developed during the course of September 2007 as part of Simon Bailey's 2nd Bachelor project, supervised by Prof. Aart Middeldorp. The initial abstract of the project stated:

Timetable creation for each semester has always been an error-prone task, normally resulting in multiple iterations of creation and proof-reading. Changes desired by teaching staff, changes of course locations etc. also require an adaptation of the previously created timetables. This project aims to alleviate the pain of this process by automatically generating timetables for selected courses from the UIBK course database. A side-effect of this is of course that students can themselves generate personal timetables.
